Hi, I’m Shoshana.
I’m a children’s book author who writes stories filled with heart, humor, and curiosity. My books invite kids to laugh, grow, and feel good about who they are.
I’ve written over 20 books and stories for young readers, including the social-emotional learning picture books Sometimes Cows Wear Polka Dots, Hammock for Two, Out of Control Rhino, and Heads Up!, as well as Yummy World: Sweeter with Friends and All Charged Up!: A Day of Good Device Care, recommended by School Library Journal.
In addition to children’s books, I’ve written pop culture titles for all ages, including the fan-favorite Friendsgiving: The Official Guide to Hosting, Roasting, and Celebrating with Friends, inspired by the hit television series FRIENDS. The book features recipes, entertaining tips, and activities you can use to host themed festivities year-round.
Becoming an author was always my childhood dream. I was first published at age twelve in Shofar Magazine with a poem about Hanukah, and I’ve been creating from the heart ever since—drawing on my experiences and what I hope will resonate with kids.
I earned a BA in English from Lafayette College and an MFA in Screenwriting from Boston University, then packed two oversized duffel bags and moved to Los Angeles. On my path to becoming an author, I worked in film and in licensed publishing at Warner Bros. Entertainment, where I edited children’s books.
I grew up in Bridgewater, New Jersey—learning how to make new friends, fly a kite, and occasionally bedazzle a wardrobe. Today, I live in sunny Los Angeles with my family, including my teenage daughter, who is definitely cooler than me. When I’m not writing, I work for a global entertainment company, get outside as often as possible, and keep an eye out for my next story idea.
