Hi, I’m Shoshana.

I’m a children’s book author who writes stories filled with heart, humor, and curiosity. My books invite kids to laugh, grow, and feel good about who they are.

I’ve written more than 20 books for young readers, including the social-emotional learning picture books Sometimes Cows Wear Polka Dots, Hammock for Two, Out-of-Control Rhino, and Heads Up!, along with Yummy World: Sweeter with Friends and All Charged Up!: A Day of Good Device Care, which was recommended by School Library Journal.

I’ve also written pop culture and licensed books for all ages, including Friendsgiving: The Official Guide to Hosting, Roasting, and Celebrating with Friends, inspired by the hit TV series Friends.

Becoming an author was always my childhood dream. I was first published at age twelve with a poem about Hanukah, and I’ve been creating stories ever since, drawing inspiration from childhood experiences, big feelings, and the small moments that stay with us.

After earning a BA in English from Lafayette College and an MFA in Film and Screenwriting from Boston University, I packed two oversized duffel bags and moved to Los Angeles. Along the way, I worked in film and licensed publishing at Warner Bros. Entertainment, where I edited children’s books before focusing on my career as an author.

I grew up in Bridgewater, New Jersey, where I learned how to make new friends, fly kites, and occasionally bedazzle a wardrobe (just like my characters). Today, I live in sunny Los Angeles with my family. When I’m not writing, I’m usually outdoors, brainstorming story ideas, or trying to keep up with my teenage daughter, who is definitely cooler than me.
